The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are part of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. The SDGs, according to the UN, “recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests”. While all countries have faced challenges in implementing the SDGs, developing countries in particular may face issues like financing, corruption, or socio-political settings that prevent effective moves towards reaching the SDGs. In this webinar we will discuss both challenges and opportunities faced by developing countries in achieving the SDGs.
