we offer a unique and comprehensive framework for all partners to detect anomalies in their workflows, mitigate and ultimately predict them using a hybrid human-machine setup. anomalies could include mismanagement practices in the agrifood industry but also outbreaks or even potential spillovers. our model works with state-of-the-art AI architecture and is under the oversight of an expert panel ready to interact and orient our clients to the optimal solutions to improve both their product’s quantity and quality. we also provide a real-time evaluation model of the candidate plant with the estimation of the anomaly financial burden. ultimately our toolkit if implemented will help optimize the overall food value chain from farm to consumption while reducing the climate, financial, health, and social footprint of agribusiness and promoting collective economic and scientific partnerships.

SDG 13: -We are committed to the most ambitious of the Science-Based Targets (1.5°C-aligned emission reduction), which equates to a 42% reduction in Scopes 1 and 2 and 25% reduction in Scope 3 CO2 emissions by 2030. In 2021, we surpassed our annual targets owing to a range of operational excellence programs focused on energy efficiency improvements across our 52 production sites. -We work closely with our suppliers on the decarbonization of steel and aluminium. Through strategic collaborations on new alloy developments and incorporation of higher recycled content, we achieved a 7.1% Scope 3 emission reduction in 2021. SDG 9: -We developed a new product eco-design standard based on nine sustainability criteria, and set a target for 80% of new product developments to meet this standard by 2030. In 2021, 61% of new products met this standard and we received 19 awards for our technical and sustainable innovation across multiple product categories. -We actively participate in partnerships to leverage the power of business for the greater good. For example, we maintain productive partnerships with academic institutions in the Netherlands, France, and the US. We are also a member of the UN Global Compact and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, which under the leadership of our Chief Sustainability Officer, developed a new framework that helps consumers and policymakers quantify the full environmental impact of packaging. SDG 12: -Amidst a climate crisis, Trivium helps the world’s leading FMCG companies transition to more sustainable packaging. In 2021, we conducted over 30 collaborative innovation sessions to help customer shift from single-use plastic to infinitely recyclable metal packaging. -We research and share timely insights that help consumers make more informed sustainable purchasing choices. In 2021, we released a Buying Green Report (a survey of 15,000 consumers) and a whitepaper detailing the role of metal cans in combating food waste.

Malaysia’s landfills are quickly piling up. A single person is estimated to generate over 35kg/month of waste that ends up at landfills. Worse still, the label packaging industry contributes a massive 500 tons of paper liner waste per month, and due to the silicone content on the paper, it is treated as solid waste. Across Southeast Asia, waste paper liner from the label packaging value chain is also mostly disposed via the landfill method. At these landfill sites, pollution is also a very common problem, where contaminated water, such as Leachate can harm the surrounding environment. It is clear that there is a pressing need to tackle the issue of rising landfill waste, in Malaysia and Southeast Asia more broadly, and Materials in Works (MIW) has the solution for this. At MIW, we have devised proprietary solutions to these problems at the landfill. We have an IP-backed treatment process that recovers cellulose back into raw material for paper manufacturers, it helps in diverting the valuable waste from ending up in landfill sites. This is mutually beneficial for the environment and the paper industry, as price and availability of raw material are key concerns for players. We measure below Impact Indicators (Output based): – Amount of recovered cellulose recovered and upcycled for commercial use in the last 12 months (e.g. 600 tons). – Number of trees saved from being cutting down (One ton of paper liner is made by 13 trees). – Amount of t of CO2-emission offset produced (One tree is absorbing average 200kg of carbon over its lifetime). With 70% of the Malaysia market, MIW is able to save 54,600 Trees from being cut down, which is equivalent to offsetting 10,920t of CO2 emissions per year. As such, with the proprietary upcycling solution, MIW is able to reduce CO2 emissions by 79%, in comparison to conventional landfill disposal methods. All in all, MIW can save 59,778 t of CO2 been emitted which is equivalent to taking 13,000 cars off the road for 1 year.

OURZ ensures sustainable consumption and production by improving transparency for global food supply chains (SDG 12). Thus, consumers can distinguish truly sustainable products from supposedly sustainable ones and avoid unconsciously supporting companies that engage in greenwashing. “64% of consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable products, 74% don’t know how to identify them” -Green Print 2021. Our app solves exactly this problem. Up until this point, we have made approx. 6 million packages traceable and have already generated over 1 million consumer interactions. By being able to identify unsustainable production methods immediately, companies will inevitably be forced to produce and supply their products more sustainably. Because sustainability is becoming more and more attractive to consumers nowadays, this has not only ecologically positive effects on the environment but also economic ones for the respective companies. Another SDG that OURZ supports is building a resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive, sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation (SDG 9). Our specially developed, extremely energy-saving blockchain consumes less energy than a refrigerator. This technology can be used to document product quality and thus prove process parameters that require documentation. Different partners can access this data, each with a different focus and each in such a way that only the information that is really relevant to them is available. Furthermore, OURZ also touches on SDG 13. Our app takes urgent action to combat climate change and its impact by increasing sustainability awareness and more conscious purchasing. Our app displays various information regarding the product’s sustainability, such as e.g. CO2 emissions during its production or the exact origin of specific ingredients. This enables consumers to not only reduce their ecological footprint but also to contribute to the sustainable transformation of the industry as a whole.

Through various impact investing strategies including continuous advocating, value analysing and impact deal structuring, we put our hearts on every climate solutions and entrepreneurs, hoping that with the growth of more effective climate solutions, we can contribute to out shared climate and environment global challenge.
